Notes:  Varieties released as a result of the breeding programme initiatied in 1983 at Kerala Agricultural University, India (KAU). Selections were made for high yield, good level of tolerance to VSD involving 159 parents. Over 21,800 seedlings were screened in the nursery for vigour and the most promising were then evaluated in the field. Seven clonal and three hybrid seed varieties were selected and recommended for planting as mixtures to accomodate their self-incompatibility.
