Hunter, 1961a [HUN61A]. Fruit - Long, thin Soconusco type. Seed - white. Bartley, 1997a [BAR97A]. Most of the genotypes are very similar with regard to their vegetative and floral characteristics. The fruit shapes also show very little variation as do most other fruit characteristics. Most of these genotypes have fruit with a light green colour and the others have some degree of anthocyanin pigmentation.

In the original format of the name was composed of a number with "R" or "RIM" as suffix to that.

Synonyms: 189, R 189 [MEX]

 NOTES

Bartley, 1996a [BAR96A] This material was listed in CATIE accession lists and in Engels 1981a as 189. In later accession lists it appears to have been renamed RIM 189. However this material does is not part of the RIM [MEX] series. 26.02.99 With the advice of Dr. Bartley and the more widespread usage of the name RIM 189 [MEX] for this material the synonymy has been reversed to make RIM 189 [MEX] the ICGD preferred name and 189 synonymous.
